Bureau Veritas Automotive Functional Safety Technology Sharing Conference 2021 in Wuhan

On May 27th, the first session of Bureau Veritas' Automotive Functional Safety Technology Sharing Conference 2021 was held at Zhiyin Hall of Hanyang Cultural and Creative Industry Park in Wuhan, and it got nearly 3,500 views online.

Luo Haijun, head of the automotive industry in Bureau Veritas' Power & General Industries Division, said. With the rapid development of the automotive industry, customer needs have shifted dramatically. At present, Bureau Veritas should focus more on our customers' needs for functional safety and the added value of certification of related systems. Meanwhile, Bureau Veritas should make safety our top priority and take baby steps in new areas such as autonomous vehicle driving technology and automotive network safety prevention. The automotive industry is changing rapidly today. With electrification, intelligence, connectivity and sharing becoming the trend for high-quality development of automobiles, the safety of the electronic control system becomes especially important. How can manufacturers avoid unreasonable risks due to electronic or electrical failures? How do we effectively control the risk of network interference and attacks? The topic that Bureau Veritas hopes to share with you through this sharing session is automotive functional safety and cyber security.

Sun Chen, Product Manager, Automotive Functional Safety Division of Bureau Veritas, introduces "The New Challenges of Automated Driving Safety" and shares the main updates of SAEJ3016, the architecture and challenges of functional safety Fail Operational in automated driving environment, the process of expected functional safety and the necessity of cyber security.

Yang Hongbin, Product Manager, Industrial Control Network Security Division of Bureau Veritas, shared "Analysis of Current Situation of Vehicle Network Security and Interpretation of ISO21434 Standard". Mr. Yang analyzed the current situation of vehicle network security from multiple dimensions of vehicle facing security threats, attack surface, and analysis of security events, as well as the progress and interpretation of the ISO21434 standard for vehicle network security.

Meanwhile, several industry standards have been released to support the improvement of vehicle quality, such as IATF 16949 as we know it, ASPICE 3.1 released in 2017, ISO 26262 for functional safety, and ISO/SAE 21434 for automotive cybersecurity released this year. It is Bureau Veritas' responsibility to help companies improve their operational efficiency by enabling better integration and implementation of many standard systems.
