BV Participates the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for Regional Headquarters of Multinational Corporations and R&D Centers

On May 24, the Shanghai Municipal Government held the 34th awarding ceremony to issue certificates to regional headquarters of 30 multinational corporations and 10 R&D centers, including 4 companies in the field of biomedicine, 7 companies in the field of intelligent manufacturing and 4 companies in the field of high-end service industry. BV attended the ceremony as a representative of multinational corporation. David Xun Wang, Senior Vice President and Regional Chief Executive Greater China, Bureau Veritas, attended the ceremony and was interviewed by Shobserver.

When it came to the reasons for basing the regional headquarters and R&D centers in Shanghai, the company representatives said in a tacit agreement: "Shanghai's high quality business environment makes us steadfastly optimistic about choosing the city."

Bureau Veritas is a world-renowned group that provides testing, inspection and certification, and has been operating in China since 1882.

David Xun Wang, Senior Vice President and Regional Chief Executive Greater China, Bureau Veritas ,said: "Shanghai has now become BV's headquarter in China, and some departments have already started considering moving their global headquarters to Shanghai. The Shanghai government has been meticulous in helping companies in trouble. Last year, when masks were in short supply due to the epidemic, it was the Shanghai government that helped us through the hard time. Considering Shanghai's position as the leader of the Yangtze River Delta and even the Yangtze River Economic Belt, in the future, we hope to further rely on Shanghai's geographical advantages, make good use of its talents and leverage policy benefits, and our warehouse in Shanghai will be further expanded in the hope that we can continue to contribute to green, low-carbon sustainable development."

Currently, BV and its group of companies operate more than 100 offices in China with nearly 8,000 employees, making it one of the key components of Bureau Veritas' global strategy.
