Climate Change Services

Validation and verification services to support greenhouse gas reduction

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Climate change is an issue that concerns every country on the planet. The Kyoto Protocol of 1997 formalized an international commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In an effort to address climate change in a practical way, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and the Joint Implementation (JI) procedures were developed by the United Nations Framework on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Besides that, and in order to achieve its own GHG emissions reductions targets, the European Union established the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS).

SOLUTION

What are Climate Change Services? The Climate Change Services family encompasses the following members: - Validation and Verification of project activities under the UNFCC CDM; - Determination and Verification of project activities under the UNFCCC JI procedures; - Verification under the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme EU ETS; - Verification under non Kyoto mechanisms, such as Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), the North American Voluntary greenhouse gas emission reduction and trading scheme, and Japan Voluntary Emissions Trading Scheme; - Non accredited verification of corporate emissions inventories

What are the key benefits?
- Comply with the regulatory obligation of monitoring, reporting, and verifying emissions of your facilities.
- Reduce disruption of your business by combining audits. Use a single verifier.
